The following has been adapted from the devotionals of F.E. Marsh, a new resource coming soon to the Blue Letter Bible!
The Lord gives at least a sevenfold strengthening to His people as they trust Him.
The strength of His grace to empower.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
(2 Corinthians 12:9)
The strength of His arm to sustain.
“fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
(Isaiah 41:10).
The strength of His love to inspire.
“The love of Christ constraineth us” 2 Corinthians 5:14 KJV).
The strength of His armor to protect.
…”be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God…”
(Ephesians 6:10-11)
The strength of His joy to gladden.
“…do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
(Nehemiah 8:10)
The strength of His Word to comfort.
“This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me”
(Psalm 119:50 KJV).
The strength of His power to qualify.
“…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses…”
(Acts 1:8).
