November 2, 2012 at 11:06 amI use BLB to easily switch translations when I want to get a more clear perpective, and to look up Hebrew/Greek roots. Esp. now that my eyesight is going, trying to read Strong’s out of books is nearly impossible, even with reading glasses, so being able to enlarge print on the computer is great.
I also discovered pastor Ray Stedman when clicking on Commentary one day, who has changed my life with his sermons- I often feel connected to him; there is a definite sense of communing with the saints from heaven as I discover truths that are so appropriate for my life. He is a devotional and study staple for me.

November 2, 2012 at 3:06 pmI’m 30 years old now and I’ve used this site since I was a teenager. I have also been able to point others to BLB as a reference when telling them about Christ. Anytime I want to pull up the original meaning of a Hebrew/Greek word in the text or read commentaries by Chuch Smith or David Guzik, I just come here and it’s great.
Thanks for your ministry and all you’ve done. God bless!

November 2, 2012 at 8:40 pmThis site is awesome! My brother thinks that the book of Enoch is canonical and Christ returned in 70 ad. I use this site to quickly look up different thing we talk about. Some times he is so very convincing that I have to go back to the original text to reassure myself that I know what I know. I also use it often to listen to studies done on verses I don’t understand. I know that if it wasn’t for this site, I would be at a loss for understanding half of what I read! Thank you so much fr this site! God bless the site creators!!!

November 3, 2012 at 3:22 amBLB allows knowledge of the word of God that was rare even among scholars who committed lives to this study. Digestion of scripture in sequence tends to a compartmentalized focus. Random access freedom of the digital age is critical beyond the incredible availability of language tools. The lives presented in scripture are mirrored in our own, all partaking of and attending to a segment of the entire human experience. The human manner is personal not spiritual.
We now can begin to perceive the purpose expressed in scripture closer to a spiritual perspective as do the deathless unfettered by segments in time. An increased understanding of the literal purpose expressed through the bible apart from investigations of whom, what or where to prove or disprove but rather to obtain the superhuman perspective is now open to whosoever will. BLB now allows a deeper drink of the strength, the power of the word of God. A viewing more aligned to the spiritual the spiritual essence, the living word of the Creator, Who is the Spirit.
2Cr 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2Cr 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

November 3, 2012 at 5:58 pmYou are so right! Thanks for bringing up this point. A vignette might be helpful: recently I had an opportunity to preach in a small church. After the service, one of the leaders asked me to speak with an elementary school-aged boy about baptism. I asked the boy (he was about 7 or 8, as I recall) if he knew he was going to Heaven and he said, with a smile, “I sure do!” Then I asked him how did he know for sure? Smile became frown and then an “uh-oh” kind of expression, especially when he told me, with all seriousness, “This is where it gets kinda complicated!”
So when things get “kinda complicated”, you’ve come to the right place at BLB and all the wealth of information they have!

November 3, 2012 at 7:41 amThe BLB website is especially beneficial with its inclusion of the original manuscript languages in direct reference with the King James Version. With the original manuscript languages, the entire truth of God’s Word to us can be better understood, exactly as it was declared during the periods of original writings.

November 3, 2012 at 7:53 amMy grand daughter was rushed to children’s hospital 4 years ago with a rare anti immune desease and she ended up being on life-support for 3 months and then many more months of recovery. When I was younger I had been taught about Jesus and believed that I was a ‘believer’ until that moment. I remember that night vividly and how I cried out to my Lord. The very next day as I was surfurning the web for information, I found BLB and I’ve been reading it since. I started with the day by day and daily promise and then started one of your programs for reading the enrire bible. I completed that and have started again and now I’ve enrolled in a free course. I don’t seem to be able to get enough. At first I felt confused and lost but I just kept reading and now I just feel a little confused and lost (: I thank you for being here and offering the wonderful resources that bring calm and love to my life! And I thank my Lord for bring me here so that I can now see.

November 3, 2012 at 1:50 pmBLB has been such a blessing to me. After a car accident that should have taken my life but didn’t, once again turned to God through bible study and BLB was there with so many great bible study tools. The BLB staff, contributors and Blog writers should feel great joy knowing that what they do helps so many people build their relationship with God. As I study God’s word I find such beautiful diamonds of love, truth, wisdom and understanding that I want to share. After the accident I began a Facebook page. I just had to share God’s word and so I started posting to my page. One thing I’m very grateful now that I did was to share only His word through scripture and a couple of daily devo’s of well respected men from long ago. I kept my opinion out of it. I did not know what would become of my sharing but I just had to share. I got up to a few hundred likes then one night I posted a picture of a dog and a boy beside a bed praying and posted a scripture with it. I went to bed that evening and awoke early and went to do my bible studying and several hundred more people had liked the page. Then they started multiplying by the thousands. I was witnessing a good Godly harvest and as I watched I thought about Romans 11:25. I thanked God for allowing me to be blessed in simple sharing of God’s word and I was thankful I’d kept my opinions or biblical conclusions out of the picture and I have posted the BLB link to many of my bible study posts. The page likes are 10,910. The weekly Reached is 5,498 and the Friends of Fans is 6,075,634. WOW! Being familiar with marketing I’ve heard that there is a 10% return on advertising. Of course God’s word I’m sure has a bigger reach! But! If only 1% or even if only 1 person comes to God what an AMAZING gift God has allowed me to be a part of!
BLB staff what you do matters and is being accessed every day by people who learn, repent, consider and rejoice. It means more than you can imagine to us, to you and to God and there is a blessing in your future!

I noticed you’re using the HNV. Would you share with me what you like about that version and any dislikes, if you have them, or any other info about that version that you’ve noticed? I have many different bible version’s. I use the NKJV most but would love to find a good version that has not had it’s jewishness removed. So to speak. 🙂

November 4, 2012 at 7:09 amI can appreciate your curiosity. You answer the question for me in your last sentence. “would love to find a good version that has not had it’s jewishness removed.” I use the HNV as I reference scripture on the blog for the most part to promote it and the perspective that it gives when we read the word Messiah translated instead of the word Christ amongst many other words the HNV uses as opposed to the traditional translations. My wife and I read a translation on paper of the NT written by a long friend of mine. He is working on an OT translation. I too use the paper NKJV and use the BLB versions all to get a broader perspective. It appears Yeshua is harvesting much wheat with you. All I would say to you is keep following HIM.

November 3, 2012 at 5:53 pmBLB has been a help to me for several years now. I don’t remember who told me about it, nor the first time I used it. The wealth of information at this site is beyond description. I love the multiple translations, the Hebrew and Greek helps, the links to the songs, and so much more.
What has it done for me? With the commentaries and other helps, I’ve been able to do a more thorough exploration into a lot of Biblical texts and passages. Others have labored, our Lord said, and He’s enabled many to help us enter into those labors. The information others have discovered and shared have made it better and easier, I think, to find more meat of the Word and not just milk. My prayer and hope is that any messages I’ve delivered were made better by BLB and those who made this possible. God bless you all and please, keep up the good work. It will be a great day when the Lord rewards you for your faithful service!

November 5, 2012 at 6:39 amI was referred to this site by a friend of mine who is a pastor because I was asking questions about creation vs.evolution in order to help explain it to my children. I started here by taking the class about this subject. Then I started taking more classes. I fell in love with the Bible all over again but in a new, enlightened way (I had quit studying the Bible for a while). I used this site every day for my studies and for reading the Bible and devotions. I never before understood grace completely until I took the course on God’s grace and God’s sufficiency for living. It was truly a breakthrough for me and a pivotal moment in my walk with God. I am very thankful for that. It changed my life. I am now a mentor and always refer people to this site for studying God’s Word in depth. I am so very thankful that my friend led me here and thankful for all the wonderful tools here and the great teachers of the courses. I just started the new one and it is already speaking to my heart! Thank you everyone who is involved in building this site. I know it must help many people just as much as it has touched my life.

November 7, 2012 at 10:29 amPraise God for all of you! Several years ago some folks from church recommended BLB. I go to it to get furter insight on stuff, research, help with devo time, etc. I was especially blessed when you started the “Names of God” series (hope you continue with this?). I strongly beleive that understanding the nature of God & His attributes leads to greater spiritual growth than anything else. You can memorize Scripture, sing songs, serve, etc etc. but if you don’t understand who God is; His nature, His attributes, etc it most likely won’t mature you.
Be richly blessed and encouraged!!!
