Posted on July 23, 2012 Posted by Chris Poblete

The following is from the works of F.E. Marsh, a study series coming soon to the BLB.

A. Almighty God, to bless us. “…’I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless, that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly'” (Genesis 17:1-2).

B. Blessed God, to cheer us. “in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted” (1 Timothy 1:11).

C. Compassionate God, to bear with us. “But the LORD’s portion is his people…” (Deuteronomy 32:9-13).

D. Defending God, to protect us. “The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation…” (Exodus 15: 2-3).

E. Eternal God, to secure us. “The eternal God is your dwelling place” (Deuteronomy 33:27).

F. Faithful God, to assure us. “considered him faithful who had promised” (Hebrews 11:11).

G. Gracious God, to bless us. “…you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love…”  (Jonah4:2).

H. Holy God, to sanctify us. “I am God…Holy One in your midst” (Hosea 11:9).

I. Indwelling God, to establish us. “God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved” (Psalm 46:5).

J. Just God, to clear us. “that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus” (Romans 3:26).

K. Kind God, to supply us. “who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy” (Psalm 53:4).

L. Loving God, to cherish us. “I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3).

M. Mighty God, to deliver us. “The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save” (Deuteronomy 4:37).

I think the most important one of all is that God is longsuffering. I Timothy 1:16 “Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.”

“And Job proceeded to answer [yhwh]…and say:

“I have come to know that you are able to do all things,
And there is no idea that is unattainable for you.

‘Who is this that is obscuring counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore I talked, but I was not understanding
Things too wonderful for me, which I do not know.”

“In hearsay I have heard about you,
But now my own eye does see you.” Job 17

he is also a God of drama.

He let Pharops army get so close to his people that he caused their wheels of their chariots to come off slowing them down and placed a cloud between them and the P’s army to obsure and protect them from probably their long range weapons
