Jehovah Sabaoth in the Septuagint: kurios sabaôth…the Lord of hosts (sabaôth: Gr. transliteration of Heb. “hosts”)
Meaning and Derivation: Jehovah is translated as “The Existing One” or “Lord.” The chief meaning of Jehovah is derived from the Hebrew word Havah meaning “to be” or “to exist.” It also suggests “to become” or specifically “to become known” – this denotes a God who reveals Himself unceasingly. Sabaoth (se bâ’ôt) means “armies” or “hosts.”Jehovah Sabaoth can be translated as “The Lord of Armies” (1Sa 1:3). This name denotes His universal sovereignty over every army, both spiritual and earthly. The Lord of Hosts is the king of all heaven and earth. (Psa 24:9-10; Psa 84:3; Isa 6:5).

Speaking as a Father, when a child hugs on ya it is a natural thing for a dad to find a way to show favor. As a father I will look for that special thing to bring a smile to my child’s eyes.
So know this…whether it is a parking spot next to the entrance or a sudden gift that answers a need Daddy God just hugged you back
Thank you for practicing His presence…have a great day.

September 9, 2012 at 6:56 amI find it amazing how over the past 22 years God has destroyed some aspects of my life that at that time I thought were in line with His will…..but then through lots of problems I was guided to a place where I can look back and just shake my head at how messed up I was back then!
It is so true that we simply cannot come truly close to God while pride fills us!
Isaiah 57:15 ¶ For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

September 6, 2012 at 1:30 pmLast week or so, someone commented on the name you chose to post under. I can’t remember exactly what was said, only that it was not appropriate for this site. I didn’t respond then although I should have. I honestly can’t understand why anyone who is walking with the Lord would use such language to describe himself or herself. Not only is it vulgar, it doesn’t reflect an attitude that reflects one’s realization that the Creator of the universe is your Father or that you were bought by the blood of His Son or that the you have a humble dependence upon the Holy Spirit for your sanctification. In addition, you have left out a crucial part of Psalm 19:14. It isn’t “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be…” as though they are to just come forth and exist as you desire. The verse actually reads, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer” (NIV), so let me ask you a question. Are they pleasing to your LORD, your Rock and your Redeemer? First, if you’re going to use a verse, you need to use it correctly, and, secondly, if you’re saved, you need to live it correctly. We all sin, and I can’t tell you the times that I haven’t used words like I should; however, to willfully disregard God’s instruction, especially because it was already brought to your attention, really raises questions as to your implied position with God. I, for one, participate on this site because I am tired of having the world’s “morality” forced down my throat. This is a site where believers come to learn about the Word of God and to dialogue with each other for personal sanctification and others’ edification. I think you need to either post under a more suitable name or go to the many secular sites that relish in foul-mouthed dialogue.

First off,
May the Love of the LORD be with you in your walk.
Truth, Love, and Justice will prevail. It already has. as you spoke.
I have been watching, waiting, and listening for the LORD to lead me what to say if anything concerning your blog name.
Finally this morning He brought to my rememberance something that I and my old office administrator had done and what the result was, and I am to share this with you.
We had a whole lot of different internet login passwords and user names that we have as a company and we were always looking for funny unique ones. This was back before I was Born Again in fact just before Father snatched me out of the darkness of my world and into the light of His.
We had two very common passwords we used and one just happened to be dumb—, the other was just A–
We actually thought they were funny, rebellous, and somewhat controversial, of which, we really enjoyed.
We used those names for years however, soon after my baptisism of both water and spirit the LORD took me on a study of words, not only His Word but all kinds of words, what they meant in Greek, Hebrew, old world English.
How those words impacted people, Him and all of creation. He showed me how the Adversary used my words to build up or to tear down.
Now this is where it made all the differance to me and for me. He showed me how what came out of my mouth came into existance in the spiritual and what they did to those either around me or under my authority.
Genesis 1:3 says “Then God said Let there be light and there was light”.
That one simple sentance made me personaly realize that it was true what I speak will “Become” because I have the spirit of God inside me and my words are His now.
At that moment I began to understand and watch how what I said either made people hurt, happy, sad, down trodden, built up, or joyful.
What my words and actions really had the power to do. At that point I began to understand if it impacted others how did it impact me ?
I pondered for starters if I speak, I am fat, ugly,
or ignorate was I speaking this over myself, would I become the words I spoke.
Well I believe based on the revelation from the Word of Father is that yes I will become what I speak.
Our words are seeds thrown out into the world they should be good seeds as Christs were, not to say mine always are, as I have gotten hurt and angry even in these blogs and thrown out bad seeds, and immediately I watched just how powerful they were, looked at the flow of blog and how the responses go, they become not about God, but about all of us quickly. For that I have repented and learned the power of my Words.
We are the Body Of Christ the whole body especially the mouth, and as the Word says The tongue can bless or curse.
I can speak from experience my tongue had to be bridled just like a mule, but I will also say this now that it has been, my life has changed, my attitude has changed, and by the way, those passwords have changed.
They are now good seed sent out into world.
Your words have power, whose power is up to you and how you speak them.
Be Blessed

September 7, 2012 at 8:53 amDumass,
First off, you have ladies present. Ladies who obviously have a better command and understanding of the scriptures than you do.
It was Jerry’s response however that caught my attention.
Since you alude to scripture, I’ll use scripture.
If your post name is from Ballam’s story, then 2 Timothy 3:16 applies. I was going to look all of the cites up, but decided to test my memory.
Starting from the N/T, I seem to recall that God used a dumb-ass to, ‘restrain the maddness of the prophet.’ Shifting to the O/T. It was Balaam who counsled Balaak in the, ‘sin of Peor’, a fact brought out in the N/T passage above. O/T; Balaam was killed by Joshua’s (The Lord’s Army) as they took the promised land, specifically because of Balaam’s advice in the issue of Peor.
Ballam was most assuredly God’s prophet and ‘spoke His Word’, but was judged by God.
In Psalm 19, I seem to recall David asking God to ‘keep him from presumptive sin’. Presuming on God’s grace when we sin is a dangerous thing.
N/T; Paul ‘forgot those things that were behind’, and ‘strove for the upward call of Christ Jesus’.
N/T; ‘Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.’ It wasn’t your blog name so much, as it was your response to sound biblical wisdom from the ladies.
You responded from a spirit of rebellion.
O/T; ‘Rebeelion is as witchcraft in the eyes of the Lord.’
Assuming that you are ‘a son’, remember that our Father ‘chastens those whom He loves’. The Father must really love me a lot, I seem to have required a lot of chastening, and a rebellious spirit to God’s authorities in my life was central to that chastening. I knew His word and what it meant, but like Balaam, I wanted what I wanted. Trust me, it’s not the direction you want to go.
My advice? Ask forgiveness from the ladies and change the name. Remember ‘God loves His children and …….. them’. ‘Study to show thyself approved..’.
Tim

September 8, 2012 at 5:33 amIt never ceases to amaze me how the enemy uses subtle tactics and even blatant ones to try to draw us away from dwelling in the presence of the Almighty. He has always and will always be jealous of our Wonderfully Awesome God. The enemy is an attention seeker, dwelling in confusion trying to distort and manipulate the Word of God. He will use anyone who is willing to be his vessel to draw attention away from our God. I use to go on a Christian chat some years ago. I loved chatting and building up others and being built up by the edifying words that came from fellow believers. Soon the enemy became aware of the unity in the room and sent one of his diciples in and the confusion began. This person would hurl out the most ungodly accusations and even viciously attacked us. We started to put all of the focus on that person and the log-in name that they used. New believers were afraid to come in because the atmosphere had changed. Those looking to find Godly fellowship left, including myself… which was exactly what the enemy wanted. He hates God and His people. The devil is a control freak and he wants to be equal with God… but he never will be.
Remember, we fight not against flesh and blood – we are in spiritual warfare. The enemy will even step up on what we call ‘our turf’ and try to lay claim on it… and he will if we allow him. The Word of instruction from the Lord is to PRAY WITHOUT CEASING and STAND and HE will fight our battle!

September 9, 2012 at 3:51 amIt seems to me that we have a God that makes some real big claims. He takes on some pretty incredible titles. If we believe Him we must also believe his claims and use them for our advantage; i.e. “Lord of the Armies” protect us and our families with your armies and do not allow the enemy to triumph over me.

” Lord Of the Armies ”
Hezekiah went to the LORD in sackcloth in his distress because of the mocking and threats going on and the LORD Spoke to Isaiah to tell the king what would happen.
However remember the mocking did not instantly stop it actually became worse the mocker blasphemed Father GOD.
Hezekiah keep seeking & praying though and then because Hezekiah had sought the LORD for his need the LORD answered and acted.
The battle was won instantly by the LORD.
Great story.
We must seek the LORD “FIRST” for everything and He will answer and navigate us through to Our VICTORY.
Two great reminders that help me draw my strength to overcome doubt are these verses.
It is sometimes hard to keep standing while the devil deceives our eyes and minds and the mockers keep speaking.
#1 Galations 6:7
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
#2 Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.
His ways are not ours. Amen !!! Love you ABBA !!!

One of the things that is keen in this Christian life is the ability to join our Daddy God in adventures. Example, my son and I spent several hours taking care of business on his farm. Over the last week or so, many participators have voiced their disapproval about your choice of names, giving Scripture references about the use and power words for you to consider, yet it has made no difference to you at all. I really have to wonder then, how sensitive you are to the Holy Spirit’s leading, despite the supposed knowledge and wisdom that fills your posts. Scripture tells us that we are to do all things in love and without offense, lest we become a stumbling block or cause division, and, yet, you persist in doing something that, obviously, is both distasteful and distressful to others who are your brothers and sisters in Christ. Why would you do this? Just the fact, as was pointed out in an earlier post, that it has generated so much dialogue that has taken our focus off true spiritual concerns should have made you immediately stop, but it didn’t. Why? Why would you do something that someone else has warned you is a vehicle of Satan, something that our enemy uses to turn our hearts and minds away from our pursuit of God? Why do you shun the advice of other members in the body? The Apostle Paul tells us that we are to think upon things that are “pure” and “lovely” and “of good report” or that have “any virtue” (Phl. 4:8). How does your choice of names reflect any of these things? As I Corinthians 10:32 says, “Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God.” In other words, we are never to use our liberty in Christ if it costs others their freedom, whether in peace or knowledge or edification or anything else.
Something else occurred to me as I was reading your posts and that is that the style sounded all too familiar. Just like fingerprints, each person has his or her own ‘voice’ when writing. As I read some of your posts and compared them to other posts from the past, I noticed that your writing is just like Mathew’s (poor and needy one). Among other things, you not only use the same phrasing and the same types of allusions that he does, you make the same writing errors. For example, in today’s post, you wrote, “Pl.release me, that i may declare,….” Going to the May 4 blog, you will see that Mathew also, as he does in many of his posts, abbreviates the word “please” as “Pl.” He also leaves the space out between “Pl.” and whatever word he uses after it, just as you have done today. In addition, Mathew uses a lowercase “i” instead of the proper uppercase, just as you have also done.
I have no doubt that you are Mathew, and just as your posts were disruptive to the work of the Holy Spirit then, so are they now. In addition, just as people attempted, through love, Scripture, and godly advice to bring you back into alignment with God’s Word before, so have they now, but you have refused to heed anyone’s admonition, a true sign of hardness of heart and rebellion that says more about you then any pearls of wisdom that you think you are imparting to the rest of us.
I would ask you respect the wishes of those with whom you claim to be in a spiritual relationship and to re-evaluate not only your use of your name but your motives behind it. I don’t claim to be speaking for anyone else, but we are to keep the body of Christ pure, and because of that, I ask that you either refrain from using secular vulgarity or leave. Just because a word or phrase is used in the Bible doesn’t mean we are to incorporate into our everyday lexicon (The words “whore” and “piss” come to mind). It is my prayer that you will stop and listen to God’s Spirit about the words we use to express ourselves as so many others have pointed out and that you will have a teachable spirit. In II Corinthians 10:5b that we are to “[bring] into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” I pray that you will.

September 10, 2012 at 11:53 amBarbara, I had a similar thought concerning the id…as a man thinketh in his heart so is he & out of the abundance of his heart a mouth speaks. Because you have been here a while you will note I am new to the blogs. And it is a simple thing to witness the spirit of those here and conversation is a thumb print.
My thought turns to a scripture that states if someone will not accept our peace, then dust of your shoes and move on. My second thought is concerning correction. Those that refuse correction and guidance we as Christians are charged to respond towards them as if they are “sinners”. As a Christian, we are to love and pray for them but not allow them to sway or move us from our path. I can plainly see you are not swayed and The Spirit leads you to the obvious thumb print.
A sign of maturity is the ability to respond and not react. I leave this thought with an example. Those that need to take medicine…should they respond to the medicine or react? We should respond because it leads to health. In like manner we should respond to this fella which includes correction. ;>) After all, the medicine is meant to correct a dis-function within the body. And if the medicine is applied to late, a surgeon may have to be employed…but that is always the last step. So in Jesus name I agree that we can turn this situation over to the Holy Spirit in hopes that one will listen allowing correction to administer peace. If not, then The Surgeon can proceed. Either way The Tree becomes healthy.
Have a great day

I really thank you for your comments and your advice about administering medicine before calling for a surgeon, and I will come in agreement with you about turning this over to the Holy Spirit. Because the BLB has rules that govern our behaviors on this site, I will trust that they will take the appropriate steps when necessary.
Thank you again, and God bless you! I hope to hear more from you on future blogs.
Yours in Christ~

September 10, 2012 at 2:42 amEvery person is a sponge absorbing from the environment. We do not know what the person whom we talk with feels or understands about what we thought was communicated. How much unintended consequence happens whenever we speak? Speech is a learnable tool. What is said is a signature creation.

September 10, 2012 at 3:19 amOh The LORD “YHWH” and His Glorious Love !
Oh The Glorious Blood Jesus “Yeshua”!
Romans 14:19
So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.
As the Holy Spirit walks me ever so gently in my study this morning. We stopped here to read and ponder.
Deuteronomy 10:12
Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
Deuteronomy 10:13
and to keep the LORD’S commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?
Deuteronomy 10:16
“So circumcise your heart, and stiffen your neck no longer.
Deuteronomy 10:17
“For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe.
I am reminded ever so gently it is not about us, not me or you. It’s not our abilities, our deeds, or even our knowledge, it is about His love for us, His mercy for us, His sovereignty, and His Grace.
We are charged to Love Him with all our heart and to do what He tells us.
We are charged to Love His Son, Our Sweet Savior and Love each other.
He loves us all in our affliction, whatever it may look like, sound like, appear like always the lost or found sheep we may be.
In Honor, Duty, Obedience, and Respect of My Great and Mighty GOD and Savior.
I choose to Love All My Brothers & Sisters without partiality because “MY GOD AND SAVIOR LOVED ME FIRST”
May the GOD of All Creation Shine upon each of His Children today and His Shekhinah Glory flow through us for the world, Oh lost dark world to see My Daddy My “ABBA” like I do.
May we all walk under His Grace and Covering into the Land of Milk and Honey because of His Love not ours.
May we go out today and live in the land He has given us and enjoy our blessings, live, love, and laugh with Him and for Him.
Be blessed Children of God.

October 4, 2012 at 4:07 amFirst off I want to say I love God, and I am eternally grateful for everything I have been provided. I do have a question. Studying Genesis, I thought Yaweh was used in Genesis 2. But here it says it was first said in Isaiah. Which statement is correct?
