He is a Safe Hiding Place.
“a shelter from the storm” (Isaiah 32:2). “In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men; you store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues” (Psalm 31:20).
Note the three “froms” in the above verses as showing that from which the Lord saves.
He is a Sure Hiding Place.
“For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock” (Psalm 27:5). Note the two wills. There is no uncertainty.
He is a Secret Hiding Place.
“You are a hiding place for me;you preserve me from trouble” (Psalm 32:7). The word hiding” in the above is rendered “secret” in some of the Scriptures before us, and is so given in 1 Samuel 19:2, which may be taken as an illustration.
He is a Comfortable Hiding Place.
“Let me dwell in your tent forever!Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings!” (Psalm 61:4). The young birds find the covert of the mother bird’s wings a place of comfort.
He is a Strong Hiding Place.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). Note, it is the Most High who is the Shelterer.
He is a Secure Hiding Place.
“You are my hiding place and my shield;I hope in your word” (Psalm 119:114). He assures us in His Word what He is, hence our security.
He is a Communing Hiding Place.
“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the crannies of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely” (Song of Songs 2:14). The Lord is not a cold hard rock in which we hide; He is a living Person, with whom we have conversation.
This has been adapted from the commentaries of F.E. Marsh, coming soon to the Blue Letter Bible.

June 1, 2012 at 6:03 amHow blessed we are to have a Savior who is “mighty to save” and who is so intimately acquainted with our needs. How can you not be in love with Jesus!

June 1, 2012 at 7:03 amI love this message! I, too, needed to hear it today. I need to be reminded that Jesus our Lord is a LIVING PERSON with whom I have conversation. I get so busy in my day, it must grieve Him that I forget that. Don’t misunderstand me: I KNOW the Lord is a living person, who lives in Heaven, who died on the cross. I just tend to treat him like I do distant acquaintances—know they live out there, and forget to write to them or call them up.

June 5, 2012 at 6:35 amThis reminds me of a time in my life when I deserved public humiliation, but God in his great mercy stood by me and kept me from being utterly destroyed. During that excruciating time, He reminded me of Hebrews 12 v. 6, that his discipline simply proves how much he loves me. I am a better man today for having been “taken to the wood shed”. Our God is an awesome God!

July 17, 2012 at 10:22 amColossians 3:2-4
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
The thoughts presented by “7 Ways That Christ Is Our Hiding Place” seem to be summed up in Col. 3:3. I love it that the
Scriptures consistently teach that the lives of true Christians are hidden with Christ in God

July 29, 2012 at 5:34 amI had heard of the Blue letter Bible from fellow Christians but never used it before. I was just looking through your pages and came across this post (not by accident, I am sure of that). This is a wonderful reminder of what Jesus is to me, a reminder that was much needed at this time. I read it with tears in my eyes and a heart full of gratitude. What a beautiful, compassionate Saviour we have, one I can run to in any circumstances, no matter what the problem, knowing that He is everything I need. Thank you so much.
