7 Facts the Resurrection Assures Us Of

Posted on April 9, 2012 Posted by Blue Letter Bible

THE resurrection of Christ is the heart of Christianity, which makes it pulsate with the life of God; it is the keystone to the arch of truth, which holds all the faith of the Gospel together; it is the foundation of the Church; it is the mainspring of Christian activity; it is the lever of power which shall move the world; and it is the link that unites all believers.

The death of Christ tells us of the love of God, and the resurrection of Christ tells us of the power of God, and of the following seven facts:-

1. That God is satisfied and glorified (Romans 8:33,34).

2. That our sins are gone (Ephesians 1:7).

3. That we are accepted in Christ (Ephesians 1:6).

4. That we are united to Christ (Colossians @:12; 3:1).

5. That every foe is vanquished (Colossians 2:15).

6. That we shall for ever live with Him (John 14:19).

7. That the Spirit is given to the believer (John 7:39).

Further, the resurrection of Christ was announced in the Scriptures. The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, were “according to the Scriptures.” Mainly the Old Testament is meant when the New Testament speaks of “the Scriptures.” Where, in the Old Testament is the resurrection of Christ mentioned? Peter, on the Day of Pentecost, by the Holy Spirit, says in the “sixteenth Psalm” (Psalm 16:8-11; Acts 2:24-32); and Paul at Antioch says in the “second Psalm” (Psalm 2:7; Acts 13:32-37). The God-breathed Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16) were the basis and the authority of the utterance of the apostles, therefore they had an authority above all question, for “where the word of a king is, there is power” (Ecclesiastes 8:4); and the hearers who received their message had a solid rock upon which to rest, which could never be moved (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

I strongly believe in the resurrection of the Christ and the inerrncy of the Holy Bible, however,

I do not understand how the named verses in the Psalms tell of the resurrection of the Christ.

The Resurrection of CHRIST is without doubt confirmed in the scripture; you are right, there is no error in scripture because from the Old Testament to the New, the Bible “backs” itself.

So in Psalm 16:8, scripture speaks about “at my right hand”. JESUS had stated in Mark 14:60-62 that HE was the “CHRIST…seated on the right hand of power”. This “seating” could only take place after the Resurrection when HE ascended to heaven.

Hebrews 12:1-2, talks about how JESUS “endured the cross and despised the shame and is now seated at the right of the FATHER”.

1 Peter 3:22, makes reference to the right hand of of GOD, which is where the SAVIOR is seated.

Hebrews 8:1, also speaks about being seated at the right hand of the THRONE.

Then in, Psalms 2:7 speaks about the “begotten son”.

John 1:14 says that the WORD, which we know in the passage is JESUS, is the “only begotten of the FATHER full of grace and truth.”

      John 3:16, “only begotten SON”.

      Hebrews 1:5; 5:5, “begotten son”.

      John 1:18; 3:18

      1 John 4:9
      Rev 1:5

So the WORD testifies of ITSELF. GOD bless.

“Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS…”, (2Cor.2:14).
My God can/ is able to turn your worst case scenario, tragedy into the most exhilarating, laughter filled comedy. You still can have a last laugh on your enemy, because of the resurrection of Jesus, if you..IFFY..What mere man calls caterpillar,God christens “Butterfly!” You are born to fly. You are The Flying Machine. DO NOT let the emperor stop you. Fill your tank with green oil & fly for the glory of The God of Glory. Amen.

I saw a poster in a classroom. It quotes Pythagoras.” Give me a ROD long enough and I will move the Earth.” Only The Rod of Jesse is long enough to do the job! Thy rod and thy staff – BLB staff! – they comfort me. True brother, it is ‘the lever of power’. They turned the world upside down with that ROD.. We can move the mountains too. It is our FUEL ROD! Halle….lujah ! Paul encourages us to estimate the length,……of that rod, the love of Christ (Eph.3:18). What the law, legislation could not, cannot do, LOVE did on the cross, in the tomb.Amen
God’s grace and loooooongsuffering be with you all.

Thank you, BLB Staff, for this post. Now I can write down those scriptures because you did all the work for me! Thank you so much!

I am a participant in one of our church’s care groups (where we who live in the same general vicinity and attend the same church can meet together during the week and discuss the sermon, scriptures or just socialize). Our care group leader asked us what the Gospel of Jesus was, and someone brought up, “according to the scriptures”. Now I can memorize those scriptures! 🙂

    WORD POWER Ecc.8:4

It is said that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. But worldly power corrupts. on the contrary, this divine power corrects us. Now ye are clean through the words I have spoken to you (Jn.15:3; 2Tim.3:16)
Note the Light – Knowledge – Treasure – Power chain in 2Cor.4:6-7!
This divine knowledge is power excellent. Power moves things, machines for us. Power helps us to excel to the tempering, edifying of our own body and the body of Christ. Lord, give us this day our daily word. Help us check our spiritual metabolism. Quicken it, O, Lord. Yours is the excellent glory. Amen
    Grace be with you all.
    Poor and needy one,
    mathew
