Gathered Together

THE “Gathered togethers” of Scripture are associated with the fellowship of God’s saints.

  1. Gathered together in sorrow
    “And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together ” (Luke 24:33). This is when the disciples were gathered together after the crucifixion of Christ.
  2. Gathered together for worship
    “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).
  3. Gathered together for discipline
    “When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 5:4).
  4. Gathered together for testimony
    “And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles” (Acts 14:27).
  5. Gathered together in service
    “When the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in the towns, the people gathered as one man to Jerusalem” (Ezra. 3:1)”And all the people gathered as one man into the square before the Water Gate. And they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses that the LORD had commanded Israel” (Nehemiah 8:1).
  6. Gathered together for prayer
    “And Judah assembled to seek help from the LORD; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD” (2 Chronicles 20:4).”When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose other name was Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying” (Acts 12:12).
  7. Gathered together in glory
    “Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous” (Psalm l:5).”Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers” (2 Thessalonians 2:1).

    Look how God set up His Word so we could see and understand how perfect and sound it really is, all we have to do is keep digging the Word and we we’ll see things like this, have you ever seen this? You may have read Ephesians a thousand times, and not seen it. This is so cool, God’s Word is completely, completely, complete is a lot of things, and here in Ephesians we can clearly see and understand how WE are COMPLETE in being TOGETHER as God’s children. Wow!!

  5. Act 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

  6. What I truly love about “The Gathering Togethers”, is all the healing, love, and abundant fellowship that takes place during the “gatherings”.

  7. I find it very meaningful that the fulness of the Holy Spirit did not come upon the disciples and the church until they were all “in one place and in one accord”. The oneness of the body is a powerful thing. Praise God.

  8. Acts 2:24 “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,”

    1 Cor. 11:24 “and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

    Luke 22:14 “When the time came, Jesus and the apostles sat down together at the table.”

    I like it when we share communion at our church. We “gather together” to truly remember the Lord.

  10. Were in this all together aren’t we?

    Doctrine, reproof, and correction so we have that instruction of righteousness.

    The goal is to grow, and some times we need each one at times to grow in that righteousness.
