Christ is seven things within the new believer:
- Life, to be lived out.
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). - Power, for Christian walk and service.
“…God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16). - Source of fruit-bearing.
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me” (John 15:4). - As the Word, to teach.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Colossians 3:16). - Peace, to rule.
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful” (Colossians 3:15). - Joy, to fill.
“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11). - Hope of glory, to cheer.
“To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).

January 23, 2012 at 6:31 amThis falls right in line with the concept that Jesus, Himself, is our provision. It is so easy to get caught up in asking and looking for things from God. Most of the time those ‘things’ are of this world.Even when we are asking for healing, we usually are seeking it as something to be obtained, outside of ourselves. If you look at all 7 of the things the author has brought forth, every one of them is directly a result of the presence of Christ in us; of the Hole Spirit in us. We carry the authority of Jesus Christ in us to decree, release, and proclaim good news. We have been given a double portion of the annointing for all these things (Isa. 61:7), which as have through faith

January 24, 2012 at 3:30 amIf I may, I’d like to post this on Facebook sometime. I am taking this and making a hard copy of it for my “wall” at work. Blessings to you all and your ministry. I did not know about this site (BlueLetterBible) until my pastor told me about it some time ago. May the Lord, by His grace, cause us all to walk in them. Thank you very much!

January 24, 2012 at 4:58 amWay to go!
So here we are left to contend for the faith; and
while we’re here perhaps Paul’s admonition to the believers
at the congregation in Ephesians (Eph.5:11) would allow
for some righteous indignation as well?

January 26, 2012 at 3:33 pmnear as I can tell, we provided the sins for which our Lord accepted the punishment.
This act of love required obedience (as a lamb led to slaughter), a perfect, sinless offering (a lamb without blemish)
Our God sent his son, Jesus Christ Col 1:15 Col 1:16 into this world Mat 1:23 for only he would be an acceptable sacrifice. Jesus, hanging on the cross, declared “It is finished.”
We can add nothing to this perfect, solemn and completed work of Our Savior God.
By believing God, that Jesus has paid the price of our redemption, in his death for our sins, his burial and resurrection, in standing in our place of judgement, Jn 3:17 we have peace with God. Sin no longer prevents eternal separation for those who are willing to humble themselves in believing and trusting God. Luke 18:17
Our part, for all eternity, is to thank, praise and worship Our Lord and Savior, and to tell his story.
