What to say when you are about to be executed for Christ

Posted on August 22, 2011 Posted by Blue Letter Bible

“I do not need to plead my own cause … I am a dead man already. My life is dead and hidden with Christ. It is your lives that are in danger; you are dead in your sins. I will pray to God that after you have killed me, He will spare you from eternal destruction.”

– Kefa Sempangi, facing 5 would be assassins in Idi Amin’s Uganda

We are so fortunate here in Canada to have the blessing of our government to worship our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am reminded when I read this of the thousands of people who believe in spite of the knowledge that their faith in Christ is a likely death sentence. I pray, that should I/we ever face this situation (honour? opportunity?) here, I will remember and repeat the words of Kefa Sempangi and the churches first martyr Stephen…

“Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
    (Luke 12:11-12)

God is faithful even in the most difficult hour.
Even the faithful modern day Christians in USA ought to remember these things, as they have been bringing Christians before supervisors and HR depts and arresting st preachers more and more. That we should so live and speak as to honor the Lord, and as the cost to do so rises. That we will know not to be anxious for anything. But turn it to God in prayer, knowing the peace of God shall guard our hearts. And that He in that very hour will teach us what to say.
Been there before, in front of Unit Charge nurses, lesbian at that, DNS, CEO and state investigators and others at a State facility for sharing Christ. Indeed He is faithful! some from the state office heard the gospel very clear and filled with compassion for their souls.
May we all grow in being faithful stewards as the one shared in today’s blog!

I forgive you and I pray that you will repent of your sins and acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your souls. To Him be the glory and the honor.

Three verses that come to mind.
    Luk 23:34
    Act 7:60
    Luk 12:11-12

Pray for our missionaries on the front lines, and praise the Lord for living in the USA. Let’s not take it for granted.

Job 13:15 Though 2005 he slay me, yet will I trust in him.
