I have been blessed beyond measure by God bringing me a wife, and later two children. I realize this all the more by staying in The Word, attending church and prayer. I can then support my wife by being healthy, calm, confident, friendly, patient and loving – I pray for God’s light to fill my lamp, so that I can share this light in my home.

Marriage is a picture of our relationship to God and his covenant with us, that never will he leave us or forsake us. We are the bride of Christ and he is our groom, and he is the most faithful husband we could ever ask for. No matter how unfaithful, faithless or disobedient we are, he is faithful to forgive. That’s why God hates divorce, because somehow we think faithfulness is a line in the sand: “I’ll be faithful as long as he/she is. But if they fail, I’m out.” But He will never divorce us, even when we are idolatrous and adulterous. If only we had the same heart as God, there would be a lot less divorce in the world and marriage would truly glorify God.

So excellent of a point made! Romans 7:1-4 also gives spiritual concepts pertaining to the figure of marriage to the true according to the law by the Faithful Husband of the everlasting bride (i.e. Christ and the church, His people (Eph.5:32[even vs.22-33],Gen.2:20-25,Mat.1:21)). Showing the security the believers have in this oneness union (1Cor.6:17). Praise God for His Word!
