When Our Hearts Grow Dull to Scripture [VIDEO]

Let’s be honest. Sometimes, when we try to study Scripture for all its worth (digging into biblical languages, using BLB study tools, etc.) our hearts can grow dull to what the text is saying. We fill ourselves with head knowledge, but our hearts are left unaffected. In the following video, CCEF faculty member David Powlison tackles this issue and offers advice on making Scripture personal.

This is an excellent answer to a common problem. I have struggled at times to see the “near horizon” in my study time, but I have learned that God uses simple things to teach me what He wants me to learn, even if I just read the text for what it is in the English language without going deeper into the ancient languages or study tools used for interpretation.
