Yesterday, we introduced you to our parent ministry Sowing Circle and mentioned that “one of the most effective methods to spread the Word is to work together with other ministries in evangelizing, teaching the Scriptures and ministering in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
One of the ministries that we partner with is Bryce Lodge Orphanages. Bryce Lodge Orphanages is a ministry arm of Roger Oakland and Understand the Times. Specifically, they work with Christian children in Buddhist Myanmar. One of these orphanages we support has been called the “Sowing Circle House” (Yangon, Myanmar).
This week, we received an amazing praise report of what God is doing at the Sowing Circle House. Below you can watch a video of God’s work and His evident grace through this ministry. Would you join us in praising Him?!

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
I thank God for those who are obedient to His calling to spread the gospel. Thank you, Blue Letter Bible/Sowing Circle for sharing.

March 2, 2012 at 8:12 amI love stories like this. Those children look truly happy in the Lord. And some of them can read and write in two languages? That is amazing. What a blessing to the world to have children like this grow up and penetrate the darkness in the name of Jesus. Very cool!
Thank you, BLB!

March 3, 2012 at 5:12 amHOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU TEACH THESE CHILDREN TO READ AND WRITE IN TWO OR MORE LANGUAGES, BUT WE HAVE PROBLEMS HERE IN AMERICA TEACHING OUR CHILDREN HOW TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK IN ONLY ONE? YOU SHOULD GIVE US THE SECRETS OF ACCOMPLISHING SUCH A GREAT DEEDS. LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR RESPONSE
Barbara LeFevre says
March 3, 2012 at 5:46 amThere are no “secrets.” The plain truth is that the teachers want to teach, and the students want to learn. They are in an environment in which godly education and not worldly indoctrination is the goal. These teachers and children believe that they are the product of a loving God, not millions of years of evolution. The teachers understand that they are accountable to God, not a corrupt educational system. It’s not that we can’t do this in our country; we have just chosen not to.

August 21, 2012 at 6:53 amHi Mathew,
I hope that your plans for starting a Sowing Circle House in Kerala come to pass. Just like Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Commit your plans unto the Lord and ask Him to start up this ministry.
Blessings,
Christie

July 4, 2012 at 6:22 pmGreat to see this ministry and the children dressed modesty. Praise Jesus Christ for their saved souls. I was concerned to see some of the dance, girls moving the lower part of their bodies in dance. David leaped in modest dress with robe and ephod, priestly array that completely covered the priests. The dance was modest leaping.
I hate to see an inch of the sensual world penetrating the church or ministry.
May ministries understand the times of apostasy.
Chris (new poster, in no way affiliated with blb) says
August 22, 2012 at 12:34 amJesus has provided the free gift of salvation for these children, and the Holy Spirit is clearly working to change their lives. This happens whether or not their culture has the same standards of modesty in dance that some may have in American Christian Sub-Cultures, or David had in his 2nd Millennium BC Ancient Near Eastern Culture. I would be careful not to divide the body of Christ on such issues.
Michal seemed to have the similar criticisms of David’s dance where he glorified God (2 Sam 6:17&20) that you have of these children (boys and girls) glorifying God, and because of her attitude Michal “had no child unto the day of her death” (2 Sam 6:23). You likely have an opinion on David’s dress (what uncovered means, etc) and motion of dancing, but what if you actually missed the point by focusing on these details? What if the point actually was that Michal was offended at David glorifying God in a way that she was not used to seeing? Michal ended up being cursed for criticizing David’s worship of God in a way that was unfamiliar, even uncomfortable, to her based on the culture of their social class (2 Sam 6:22).
Be careful not to “strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.” The Gospel is about Jesus, his work on the cross, salvation by His grace through faith (alone) – it really is a free gift – not dependant on any work (i.e., keeping to specific rules when dancing) so that no man can boast. And the Holy Spirit continually works in us to transform us to be more like Christ. The apostate church you speak of will stray from this message. Sister please, for your own sake, stick to the Gospel, be attentive to the Holy Spirit, and do not use non-essential doctrine as a way to divide the body of Christ–especially when He is clearly at work in a ministry.

October 21, 2012 at 7:19 pmValerie Lee,
While I applaud you modesty please understand you misquoted the scriptures. David, that is KING DAVID did in fact take off ALL his clothes and dance naked in front of all his maidservants and the city while singing to the Lord. 2 Samuel 6:20 says this… Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! vs 22 says …And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honor. God put this in Hos
Word to show us that King David was a man, not perfect, A man after His own heart. That being said because David loved God and hated the enemies of God. But he was still a man and had his faults. as does everyone. May the Lord bless you in all you do.

July 12, 2012 at 2:00 pmOnce I became a Christian with the indwelling Christ living His being through me, the flesh melted away, and I no longer was a respecter of persons of nationality, or ethnicity. We are looking to foster a young child who is form 0-2 years of age and have been approved by Nevada to be foster parents. We will be back from our mission trip the first part of December. If anyone has information we will look at the information and then proceed from their if we think the child is appropriate for us and I for it.
