Yesterday, we looked at the practice of private prayer. Today, we consider the call to pray corporately in the same seven ways:
1. The prayer of ADORATION.
Jeremiah 10:6-7 – There is none like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is great in might. Who would not fear you, O King of the nations? For this is your due; for among all the wise ones of the nations and in all their kingdoms there is none like you.
Psalm 145:10-11 – All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power
2. The prayer of CONFESSION
Dan 9:5 – we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules.
Isa 64:6 – We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
3. The prayer of SUPPLICATION
Psa 67:1 – May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah
Psa 85:7 – Show us your steadfast love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation.
4. The prayer of INTERCESSION
Psa 67:3 – Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!
Psa 7:9 – Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous– you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God!
5. The prayer of THANKSGIVING
2Cr 9:15 – Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!
Eph 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,
6. The prayer of DEDICATION
Isa 26:13 – O LORD our God, other lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone we bring to remembrance.
Isa 63:19 – We have become like those over whom you have never ruled, like those who are not called by your name.
7. The prayer of DOXOLOGY
Phl 4:20 – To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Rev 7:10 – and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

February 7, 2012 at 6:48 amAnd it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. Joel 2:28,29 We are lliving in the last days. Pray for God to pour out His Spirit upon you that you may prophesy, that you may dream, that you may have visions, and that the glory of the Lord will be exalted in all the earth!! Christ is King! February 7, 2012 at 8:09 amI love the responses! Travis, thank you!
I usually don’t like corporate prayer. Sometimes, in groups, some tend to go on and on and on almost as if they are speaking just to hear themselves pray. I used to do that until I realized that other people were hearing from the Holy Spirit and I wasn’t giving them a chance to pray.
My favorite “pray-ers” are my pastor and the leader of our “life group” that meets during the week at our leader’s home. Both of these men pray as if they are sitting right at Jesus’ feet. They talk to the Lord, they don’t recite.
My most favorite pray-er is Jesus, when He is in the Garden, asking the Father not to take those He has chosen out of the world, but to protect them from the evil one, and bind them together in love.
May Jesus’ prayer be answered in us today.
Today is my Monday. I pray that I will bring glory to God today.

February 7, 2012 at 11:01 pmTravis, Thanks for your comment. What do you mean we are living in the last days? Do you mean last years, decades, or century? Does it matter? Do you have an insight you would like to share with me?

February 9, 2012 at 7:10 amI believe that as The Lord has predestined a time period to exist, within which the history of man is. I believe that according to the words of our Lord and savior in Matthew 24:33 “So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” I believe we are at the latter end of the period in which man exists. The Lord has been stiring my heart in many ways and encouraging me to press into His word for strength and wisdom to be prepared for what lies ahead. Jesus would not have said know that it is near, if we would not be able to , therefore we can know. However it is not mans place to assign a date within time designating “THE LAST DAY ITSELF”, however it is absolutley within the power of Gods Holy Spirit to reveal to us through prayer, fasting and the study of His word, the time in which we live. I believe that Just as the Lord told Daniel to seal the pages of the book that had been revealed to him, we see through a glass dimly now but clearer the vision becomes as we near the end. It is only God that can give you a clear and correct vision in your heart. It matters to me what time period God has chosen for me to exist in, His will is perfect and He alone has all wisdom, therefore if we are obedient to Him and seek Him diligently, He will reward us. To bring Him glory and exhault His name on high through the coming to salvation of another man or woman, is the ultimate fullfillment of the purpose of the believers life, to preach the gospel and bring God glory. Does it matter, it does to me. You see God has given me a life, an abundant life at that. Therefore, as Paul says, it is our reasonable service to present our bodies a living sacrifice, Rom 12:1. If God has given you this life He speaks of, this abundant life, your desire will be for Him first, then your needs second which He will provide. I love Jesus, I want to serve Him any way I can, anywhere I can, my life appart from Him is worthless and I was able to accomplish nothing, save nearly of my death in sin. There has been given to us a very small window of time that we live in here on the earth, the effects of which are to have a bearing on eternity, one way or another, a maximum of 120 years to determine what happens forever in eternity (it is impossible for us to understand eternity as we have finite minds). The insight I have is to rise this morning and every morning from this day forward and ask The Lord Jesus to reveal Himself to you, forgive you of your sin and to teach you His word as you study the scriptures. Man is in a hury, God is not. To become effective for The Lord we must wait upon Him, through much perserverence, we will grow in His grace and abound in His Love. Seek the Lord and I pray that He would open up the flood gates of heaven and let His wisdom, blessings, Mercy and Grace fall down upon you today!

February 7, 2012 at 9:35 am2Ch 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
It is so sad to me that if a popular speaker came to town the church would be full…. but when asked to come for corporate prayer there is a small handful of people willing to come. That is truth. That has to make our Lord sad. He must think “they gather to hear and speak to a man I created but won’t come to hear and speak to me”
